Blue Bonnets

The bluebonnets are in full bloom! For those who are not native Texans, the tradition down here is to take all the fam out once a year and take pictures in the State Flower. :) By our house in one of the undeveloped lots the blue bonnets are growing wild....so instead of a big trip to the country, we walked down the street. The first time we went just with our family and then we went out with our friends the Lambs to take pics with our friends!

Calvary Camp-out

We had the church camp out this weekend. We had a blast! With the exception of rain during the night, everything went really well. We shared a campsite with our friends, the Lambs, so we all had a chance to visit and play. :)

Setting up the tent....

...success! Peter thought it was so cool that he got to sleep in the tent.

There was a lake within walking distance from our campsite that was very refreshing to dunk our feet in.

Of course Peter dunked a little more than his feet. :)

Brent got to play like a boy too... haha.

Hot dogs over a camp fire are the best!

Justin is in the background with Cooper, the Lamb's youngest in the front.

Peter never slowed down! Except when he slept....but even that has earned him the nickname "crazy legs"!

Before we went to bed the church gathered for praise and worship and for people to share their testimonies of God's grace in their lives. It was a sweet time to be with the brethren.

Don't forget the s'mores!!

The next morning Laura and I make yummy breakfast burritos.

Peter and Jaxon played around the camp together.

I can't believe they are actually sitting still....hmmmm, must have been all the sugar!

The next day Brent and I went to Chicken Express to get lunch for everyone. Some of the people who didn't camp came out for fellowship and lunch. Again, we had a wonderful time just being with our friends and having a great meal. This pic is just a small portion of the actual group that came...we planned for about 127 people for lunch.

Justin got down right dirty. But hey, that's what being a boy is all about!

Seven years....

That's right! Brent and I have been married for seven years. God has been so good to us and has grown us both more into the image of His Son. We both agree that this marriage is nothing like we pictured it would be - it's BETTER! By the grace of God we are more in love today than we were seven years ago. I love to serve my husband and to encourage him in the Lord and I can tell that he loves me with a love like Christ loves His church. Brent is so wonderful about pulling off great surprises! This dive was featured on the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". I saw the clip and really really wanted to go try it....especially since it is only about 30 minutes from our house! This place is run by a man from Nigeria that wanted to cook. The bank would not give him a loan to start his business because he had no experience....so he got a lease inside a gas station. That's right - you can go and get gourmet food in a GAS STATION! Totally quirky, totally fun, and totally yummy!!
If you look closely above my head you can see the gas station part...the drink coolers and such.

The Menu....everything from pasta to pizza to duck and lobster!

This was our appetizer....mushrooms, cheese and ooey gooey goodness.

The stamp that Guy leaves everytime his Food Network show visits a place. I'm such a dork...hehe.

Afterward we went for cheese cake at the Cheesecake Factory. Again...YUMMO!

I got Lemon Raspberry and Brent got Banana Cream... "Simply spectacular", I mumbled as I shoveled half the pie into my mouth. :)

To end off the night we took a short walk around the fountain at South Lake Towne Center. :)
Brent also surprised me with tickets to a Dallas Summer Musical - I can't wait!!
