This is our 250th post!

Well. What a milestone - 250 posts!  Brent started this blog the day after Peter was born - almost 5 years ago!  I have loved blogging and catching everyone up on the Osterberg happenings.  Thank you those of you who read our blog, pray for our family, and have laughed and cried with us over the years.  It has been a wonderful journey so far, and God isn't done yet!

We have a lot out by our house that always has blue bonnets in the spring...so we go and take advantage of the beauty out our back door.

Our sweet friends the Lambs came too so we could take pics for each other.  The big boys: Justin, Cooper, Jaxon, and Peter.

One thing about Lady...she DOES NOT like grass.
...and the rest of the kiddos - All same as above, but we added Asher and Jane.  :)

Justin constantly dances to the music in his head....
Sweet Peter...look at him sitting so still.  Quite hard for my Peter Blue.  He must love his mama to pose so nicely.  :)

How great is our God!

The other night Jupiter and Venus were on the west horizon.  Being the astronomy lover that I am, I went outside to gaze up at them.  This is the picture my camera captured.  Jupiter is on the left and Venus is on the right.
Here is a picture of Venus with my camera zoomed in as far as it would go.  So spectacular!
"Praise the Lord!  I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart, in the company of the upright and in the assembly.  Great are the works of the Lord; they are studied by all who delight in them.  Splendid and majestic is His work, and His righteousness endures forever.  He has made wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate."  Psalm 111:1-4

Time to get busy outside

Aahh spring.  Nice to see the sun, gets some vitamin D, play outside, and pull those weeds!  Peter and Justin were a big help as we began to prep the back yard flower beds.  I won't plant until after Brent's birthday though...there is always one more cold snap.

And in some big news....Jane had her first time in the swing!  She loved it!  I'm so amazed at how big she is getting.

And in other big news...Peter can pump himself! He literally learned this afternoon.  We was so proud of himself.  Peter loves to swing almost more than anything else in his little world.  And I am usually the one pushing him for hours.  Now that he can do it himself he probably won't come in the house much.  Remind you of anyone you know, Mom? ;)

Jane has also discovered that she loves her bounce-a-bout.  Thank you, Gramma and Papa John!  :)

It's finished!

I am so excited that my latest DIY project is done.  I wanted to have a very specific scripture in the boy's room...so I quickly found that I would have to just make something.  I got this idea from Marcia Whiting and her sweet girls, Tori, Kathy and Stephanie.  They made Jane one for her room.  So I tried my hand at it.  Here is the finished product and the process follows:

I got a piece of wood from Home Depot - $5.
My sister came over and we painted one coat of a light paint and one coat of dark.  Then she suggested that I use a little water to give it a washed and distressed look. (She made one too, I will try and sneak a pic and put it up)  :)
Then I cut out the letters on my Cricut and got them where I wanted them.  This was the hardest part.  You who know me know that I have a mental block against straight lines!

I traced the letters with pencil then went back and filled them in with paint.  The edges are really hard to do...so we are going to say it looks "rustic".  Lol.
Then I gave it a big sanding with sand paper...again because I wanted it to be rustic and "old" looking.
 I attached a backer....
...and hung it up! I like the way it turned out...I learned a lot of lessons and I think my next one will look even better.  :)
I have also been sanding, painting, and distressing old Goodwill furniture...I wish I had before pics.  But these are the after.  You can click on the pic to see more details.  I think they look much prettier in person, but oh well.  This is the one for Brent's side...
..and this is the one for my side.  Each table was only about 10 dollars.  I think they now look like something cute we may have picked up in Fredericksburg.  :)
View from the door.  I'm still not completely happy with our room, but this is a great step in the right direction!
