Malibu

We decided to brave the beach again.  It was so cold at Santa Monica, and we were unprepared.  So this time we did a little research (again thanks to a close friend!) and we went to Carbon Beach on Malibu.  We didn't see any movie stars although I hear that many of their homes are near there.  :)
We parked the car and walked down to the beach....
We were the only people on the beach.  This was such a contrast to all of the people on the other beach.  Kind of weird not seeing anyone else besides walkers.

The sun was warm, the breeze was cool....okay, the breeze was cold...but we loved it.

Brent was so sweet to play with the kids and let me lay quietly on the beach and watch the waves for a while.  Love.
Brent built a sand castle/mound with the boys and let them knock it down....
...while the girls had a tea party.  :)

Such a lovely afternoon.  We are still in need of prayer that the Lord would show Himself sufficient and that we would guard our hearts to stay focused on Him.  School is going well for Brent and the kids and I are trying to get down a daily routine.  We have started summer school with Peter (minimal) and the boys are enrolled in swim lessons.  It is all going well, but not an hour goes by that we do not see our need for God in a more intense way.  God is showing us how much we really do need Him.  Please pray that we would respond to the trials and spiritual warfare in a way that pleases and glorifies Him.
