Tales from the Tired

Peter is now 12 days old. Brent and I are amazed at how Peter is already such a huge part of our lives that we can't remember a time without him. He is sleeping much better and he is eating like a champ. Our favorite past time now is to just sit and look at our little miracle and marvel at God's awesome power of creation. To think that this little baby was once inside and is now out here with us is just so astounding. How intricate the hand of God is to create something that is so tiny yet so perfectly knit together! God is giving us grace to take one sleepless night at a time, and I would like to think that we are pleasing the Almighty with good attitudes and prayer. Each day is an adventure and Peter is definitely keeping us on our toes. On Saturday we took Peter out to the end of the block in his new running stroller. He loves motion and was soon fast asleep in his carrier. It was so nice to get out of the house and to feel the breeze! Today, Monday, we took Peter back in to see the doctor for his second PKUs. They took blood from his heel. I think it was harder on me than it was on him. :) His cord has fallen off, so they told us we could give him his first bath...keep checking our blog for those fun photos!

We would like thank all of our friends and family who are praying for us and encouraging us - it really means a lot to us to know of your love!

Peter Lewis Osterberg: Born by God - Born for God

Keri and I could not think of a better way to start out this blog than by announcing the birth of our firstborn! Peter Lewis Osterberg was born at 12:26 a.m. yesterday morning April 18th weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz. and measuring out at 20'' long. He is an awesome sepcimen of God's creative power and we hope that you will all rejoice with us upon hearing this news!

Keri and I have spent many hours just staring at our little guy in adoration and curiosity. Peter's got Keri's ears and my mouth mouth, but we are extremely thankful that He does not have my eyebrows or love handles. He is a very happy baby - He eats well, sleeps well, and can twist his legs around so that he looks like a pretzel. We think that he may have a future in the circus. God only knows what the future will bring, but as of now Keri and I still have our wits about us and we are thanking God for the grace he has poured out on us in bringing Peter into this world. Please join with us in prayer as we ask, even now, for God to bring Peter to repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ when he gets older and pray for us as we try to raise him faithfully according to the Word of God.
