So we are home with Little J. I uploaded theses pics not remembering that they load backwards...sorry they are a little out of order....oh well. My parents are here for the weekend, helping and soaking up time with the grand kids. :)
Peter is being such a good big brother. He is trying very hard to be gentle and "just look, no touch".

Totally zonked out...

Justin loves his tummy time. He kicks his legs and rolls from side to side on his blankie.

This is when we first came home. Peter was so happy to see his "Bebe".

...all bundled up at the hospital and ready for the car ride.

Welcome Home! We came home on Monday, July 2oth. :)
We have been blessed beyond our asking with this little guy. I can't believe how much I love my boys! Justin is sleeping well and nursing well and Peter is just as sweet as ever. Thank you everybody for your prayers...we love you all!

Another Huge Reason to Praise God!

Alrighty, so Keri is laid up in a hospital bed recovering from surgery, so I (Brent) get to author the post announcing the arrival of Justin Charles Osterberg! Yes, the rumors are true - Justin came yesterday at 8 AM, was 7 lbs. 14 oz., 21 inches long, with dark brown hair, grayish blue eyes, and most importantly, he came out just the way God wanted him to. For all of you who prayed, Keri and I extend our deepest appreciation to you and want you to know that God answered a plethora of very specific requests yesterday in bringing Justin out into the world. Here are some pics to check out - let them spur you on to pray for us more as we seek to balance our parental love between two boys now instead of one.

If you look very closely you can see him holding his finger to his mouth as if to say, "I don't want to hear you say I look just like my daddy."

When Peter was born I affectionately nicknamed him Dude-man, defender of truth. In the same tradition, Justin has been named bro-man, defender of justice.

The gang's all here!

The greatest need Justin has is the greatest need we all have - to be forgiven of our sins. So please join with us in praying that God would gloriously save this little boy some day and mercifully give Keri and I the joy of using us to accomplish it.

Alright, blog readers...this is the last post before we go to the hospital. We are scheduled for a c-section on Friday, the 17th. We went to the hospital to visit some one else yesterday so we got to see the facility and the rooms and stuff. That hopefully will help my nerves a little. We are just praying for a healthy, complication-free procedure. ...But we fully trust the Lord and what ever He has planned for us. Would you join us in praying?

Speaking of...this past week, we were so blessed to have sweet Dana take care of Peter and Brent and I had the morning to ourselves. We went to the Botanic Gardens and had a little over an hour of focused prayer together. It was such a sweet time to be able to pray specifically for the birth, for me, for Justin, for Peter and for anything else that came to our hearts. It was very comforting and refreshing to pray so pointedly with the man I love. :) Afterwards we enjoyed a quite lunch together at this wonderful place in Fort Worth...
...I know you are dying to see the last belly picture that will be taken before Friday! Here I am, days before birth. I am bigger than I was with Peter, but oh well. :)

Here is the spot where we prayed together....beautiful, isn't it? The little stream and the shady trees provided the perfect spot to worship the Creator in His creation.
Love to you all - pictures of Justin coming soon!!

Girl's night, pa-kern, and alligators...

This past Wednesday, my sweet friends wanted to take me out for a 'girl's night' before the baby comes next week. They took me to Pappasitos for yummy fajitas! We had so much fun talking, eating and generally enjoying a meal where we were not pulled on, cutting up food, or wiping up messes. :) The above pic is me with Annie....
...and here are Jaime and Stephanie ...

Group pic! Annie is 26 weeks pregnant, I am 38 weeks and Stephanie is 14 weeks. :D Wow, we did need a night away!!
On to Peter pics..... (I know that's why you read this blog anyway....)

I just thought this little look he was giving me was so cute...I just finished telling him not to throw his food.

We went to the zoo again yesterday (yes, I'm crazy) and Peter made friends with an alligator. His expression is priceless.

After the zoo, we really needed to cool off...so we went to our happy place - Target! One of Peter's favorite treats is getting "pa-kern" while we shop.

Totally knocked out. He wanted to take his toy to bed... I opted out of a battle and let him. :)

Trinity Park train ride

This past Friday, Brent had off for the 4th of July weekend. I didn't know he got this day off and so he planned a day of surprises for Peter and me! We went to a yummy lunch then to Trinity Park to ride the train.
Peter loved to hear the train whistle and could even imitate it. :) He got so excited when the train came around the corner to pick us up!

What's in a name?

We would like to officially announce the name of our second son, to be born in about 1 and 1/2 weeks! (drum roll.......)

We have decided to name him Justin Charles Osterberg. There is a very special reason that we chose these names for our son to carry.

First, the name Justin comes from a very dear friend of ours, Justin Childers. Justin was with us at Sam Houston State University and was very active in the Baptist Student Ministry, which is how we came to know him originally. He was older than Brent and I and he taught many of the nights we attended at the BSM. Very few people have presented the Word of God to us in such a challenging, meaningful and beautiful way. Justin preached the Word. He was not ever ashamed of what it said or what it taught. He loves God, strives to be like Christ and wants others to experience his joy. At a time when Brent and I feel that we were both saved and 'baby' Christians, God used Justin to bring us closer to Himself and to strengthen our walk.

Justin became a very dear friend over the course of the four years we knew him in college and he even performed our wedding ceremony. Once again, the Lord used Justin to convict and bless us as we began our first steps as husband and wife.

When it came time for Brent to go to Seminary and study the Word of God, Justin was attending SWBTS. Justin's presence in Fort Worth was a large reason that Brent chose SWBTS over other seminaries presented to him. During the first years of seminary Justin's friendship was used by the Lord over and over to encourage us as newlyweds and to light us on fire with passion for Christ.

It would be a oversight of me here not to mention Justin's Godly and loving wife, Jeanna. As a woman that is striving after God, Jeanna's friendship to me was also used by the Lord as a great point of encouragement. I don't know if I ever told Jeanna before they moved what a model of Proverbs 31 she was, and is, to me. I can only pray that our son Justin finds as Godly and nurturing a wife as Justin Childers did.

Justin and his wife currently live in North Carolina, carrying out the Great Commission. Justin is a pastor and they have two children. We keep up with them still, through the blogging world mostly, and Brent and I continue to be spurred on by this couple that wants nothing more than to make God famous and to be used to further the Kingdom.

Justin and Jeanna, we love you both so much and our hope in having our son carry the name Justin is not so that Justin Childers would be remembered, but that Christ would be magnified and that HE would be the one that receives the glory for this new little life that He has created. We want our son to love God with his whole life, the way we know that you do. Thank you for blessing us, but most of all, we praise the Lord for you and for the way He called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light! To Him be the glory!

P.S. "Charles" is for Charles Haddon Spurgeon, another teacher/preacher after God's own heart. :)
Here is a picture of the Childers family: Karis, Jeanna, Justin, and Noah!

I scream, you scream!

This past weekend we made our last stop on the "before baby" tour. We went to Somerville to see my sister. She just moved into her new place and we wanted to check it out! It is such a cool place to live....out where you can see the stars and soak up nature. While we were there we went to the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. We walked around outside the factory for some good photo ops.
You can't see it in the pic, but Grandma and Papa Jon bought Peter an ice cream shirt at the gift shop - so cute!

We got to take a tour of the factory and we all received ice cream hats to wear in honor of the occasion. :)

When the tour was over, everybody got a big scoop of their favorite ice cream to enjoy. Boy was that refreshing on such a hot July day!
