Pumpkins

I just love pumpkin time!  Something about looking at those cute little, round, orange lovelies that makes me so happy!  We took the kids to the pumpkin patch and had a blast, as usual.  Jane got into it more this year, which was fun...
Jane LOVES "Bears".

Getting measured....I love Justin's face.  He's trying to be as tall as possible!
Hay ride!  Very bumpy but very fun.

Going in the pumpkin house is always a hit.  Jane kept trying to throw the pumpkins.  Silly girl.

That's the biggest pumpkin I have ever seen!
Justin is all about Lion King these days.  He had to get his picture with Simba.  :)
 My Little Punkins :)
Everyone got to pick out a pumpkin to bring home.  So many choices...
....but Jane picked out a her favorite.

When we got home, we practiced phonics, art and handwriting by writing about our pumpkins.  Here is Peter's above and Justin's below.  You may have to click on the picture to see it better.  I was so proud of them, they worked very hard on their 'pumpkin reports'!

Later in the week, we decorated pumpkins.  Jane used stickers...the girl loves stickers.
And the boys painted theirs.  Beats the mess of carving....although we still will carve at least one so I can have the seeds.  :)

This and That

Random blog post of our comings and goings.  We had museum day and spent the afternoon building original paper airplanes....

...going grocery shopping

...playing "doctor" with the babies at the mini "hospital"
 ...cleaning the teeth of dinosaurs
 ....and digging for fossils.

Haha!  I just had to add this one.  Jane has officially entered the dress up stage and I love it!  She comes up with the cutest ensembles.  :) I think this one is Viking Indiana Jones.
Last week we took a mini field trip to the botanic gardens to make tree bark rubbings as we studied trees in science.  We had fun enjoying some of the other parts of the gardens while we were there.  This is one of our most favorite places in Ft Worth.  :)
Happy Fall, everyone!  We praise the Lord for the diversity of the seasons and for such a beautiful city in which to enjoy them.

Tea Party

Jane and I were so blessed this weekend to be invited to a special tea party.  My friend Mandy and her mom had a few of the little ladies from church over for a very dainty, very girly, very squeal-worthy time.  :)  Jane LOVED all the precious dishes and yummy food.  She was on her best, lady-like behavior.

I was so excited to get to go with her.  It was our very first mother-daughter tea!

The table-scape was beautiful and all the little serving dishes and decorations were absolutely adorable.  There were plates, forks, tea cups, candle holders, and goblets, all perfectly 'little lady' sized.

After our luncheon, we were escorted up the stairs to play in the dollhouse.  Oh my!  What a cute little place for girls to play house.  They were all so sweet to each other and took turns playing with the dolls, kitchen, bed and strollers.

Then it was back down stairs for desert.  Mmmmm.  Baby cakes, chocolate tarts, punch and sparkling grape juice.

Jane was very pleased with the tiny dishes and everything that filled them.  :)

Here we are with our little girls and our lovely hostesses.  Thank you for such a sweet time of celebrating taste buds and the little girls God has given us!
