Look what I can do....

Little Peter has begun to sit up on his own! He has to be placed on the floor by one of us, and then he can keep his balance for about 30 seconds or so without wabbling. I can't believe he is growing up so fast! Pray for us, I think Peter may be teething and we have had some pretty sleepless nights here lately. I know that this is just part of the parent journey and that God has this path paved for us. We are trusting in Him and His goodness as we try to be wise in the way we make descisions for our son and glorify God at the same time. We love you all!

Doctor check up and lots of smiles!

We were in the waiting room at the doctor's office for a while - Brent always has a goofy face to pass the time - looks like Peter is learning fast! :)

Peter is starting to recognize the camera. When I hold up the camera and say "Smile!", this is the face I usually get - how precious!

We visited the doctor for Peter's 6 month check up last Monday. He is doing great - Praise the Lord! He is still in the bottom 20% of his weight, but in the top 70% of his height! (I wonder where he gets that from?) :) The doc said he is doing great and seems to be very healthy and normal. He did have to get some shots, but those are supposed to be slowing down now that he is 1/2 a year old. Thank you to those who pray for us and love us - it means more to us than we can ever express!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Baby Peter!

Today, October 18th, is Peter's 1/2 birthday. It is so hard to imagine that 6 months ago today I was giving birth to this little miracle! I remember how hard we prayed to get pregnant and I remember how hard we prayed for him to be healthy.....and just look at us now - how much God has blessed us and how He answered our prayers so above and beyond what we could ever have imagined or deserved! I know that this little baby is not MY baby, but God's child and I am so blessed to be a steward of his care. I pray that God would give Brent and me the grace, strength and wisdom to continue giving all things back to Him in a spirit of thankful, submissive worship. Thank you, Lord for your Son and for giving me a son to love here on Earth until we all sing your praises together on high!

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we took Peter out to the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound, TX (about 45 minutes from our house). We had such a great time! The weather was so beautiful and there were pumpkins everywhere! They had turkey legs, kettle corn, cotton candy, snow cones, hay rides and many different pumpkins of all shapes and sizes! We dressed Peter in his little pumpkin onesie my mom bought for him - Isn't he festive?!
Our very good friends, Michael and Lisa Oliver and their boys, Keagan and Logan came with us. It was so fun to see how excited the older boys got at the sight of all the orange!
Mummy's little "punkin". :)
Pumpkin pickin' queens. :)

We bought Peter his very first pumpkin! He, of course, wanted to put it in his mouth. :)

Aunt Jessica

This past weekend (really Monday and Tuesday) Peter and I had a mini road trip to see my sister, Jessica, who lives in College Station. We had a great time seeing Jessi's new place, shopping and eating out. Peter loves his cool Aunt Jessica! Peter also got to play with her dog, Harvey, who is a bundle of energy! Peter loved to watch her jump on the furniture and lick his toes. Jessica is a vet tech at one of the local large animal ICUs there in College Station and so it was fun to hear of all her adventures in the world of pet care...we are so proud of her and are so encouraged to see how God has blessed her life!

Visit from Presley

Our very dear friend, Presley, came to visit us this past weekend. He has been in Vietnam the past three years as a missionary. It was so wonderful to hear a testimony of God's work on the other side of the world. It was a great reminder to me how much more is going on in the world than my little life and just how big our God really is! He is doing amazing things and building His church! Presley was one of Brent's roommates in college and they had a good time watching old videos and catching up with each other. We love you, Pres!
Baby Peter is doing very well. He has discovered the wonderful world of fruits. He loves them! I am sure that he is wondering why I was feeding him something as bland as rice cereal when there are things as yummy as pears and peaches out there. :) Peter has learned a few new tricks including taking off his booties and making himself stiff as a board when he doesn't want to go into his car seat. He doesn't quite sit up without help of the couch cushions or my arm, but he is very close! He turns himself over in the middle of the night and sleeps on his tummy. Brent and I are also doing very well, God is blessing the ministries that we are leading (student, men, women and Sunday school) with great mercy. We attended the NANC (national assoc. of nouthetic counselors) conference this past week and we were set on fire anew for the gospel and the love of Christ for his people! We serve such an amazing, holy and worthy God!
We love all of you out there - let us hear from you!
